Your Workstation-Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Safety

DSE  typically includes your desk, computer/laptop/other similar devices and its accessories. it is Queen Mary policy that all staff  using DSE should complete online DSE self-assessment module, which can be found here

Postgraduate research students not on QMUL payroll, Visitors and contractors can utilise Appendix 1 of the DSE Policy to complete an assessment.

Online Display Screen Equipment (DSE) training for all Staff and is designed to give DSE users the necessary information to carry out an ergonomic self-assessment of their workstation. Completion of this module is a requirement to obtain an Eye Care Voucher (Specsavers voucher).



How to Obtain a Voucher

The Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Eye-care Vouchers are available electronically. Staff can apply for a voucher after completing the online DSE module by emailing their QMUL ID Card number (under the barcode on the ID card) to Health and Safety Directorate Helpdesk

Safety Eyewear Vouchers are available electronically, please email your QMUL ID card and local risk assessment or line manager approval as detailed above Health and Safety Directorate Helpdesk     with your Staff ID Card number (under the barcode on the staff ID card) stating if your glasses are single vision or Varifocal.
QMUL Drivers will need to bring their Staff ID card and written confirmation that they are a QM Driver to Health and Safety Directorate  reception (404 Bancroft Road, Mile End campus) to obtain a voucher. It is a good idea to phone on 020 7882 6935 so that busy periods can be avoided.
